Here at Southeast Arborist, LLC we practice all proper pruning techniques to ensure the health, safety and beauty of the trees that make up our environment. Many times I have been called to a customers property and asked to top a beautiful tree. I understand the concern with the risk of high winds and hurricanes in South Florida, although topping the tree is not the safest solution. Once a tree has had all of its vegetation removed it is vulnerable to infestation and disease. If the tree survives after being topped its response will be to sprout up many fast growing shoots to try and compensate for the loss of all its leaves. All the new growth the tree is putting out is now attached to a severely weakened structural branch, where it was cut back to during the previous topping. Topping will make your trees will definitely make them shorter but as far as making them safe in a storm it actually makes them more dangerous than ever. This video may help you understand why we NEVER top our customers trees. Call us today to set up a consultation or FREE ESTIMATE.  (561) 846-0123
